SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 19

Designating the month of March, 2005, as "Professional Social Work Month".

Whereas, Social workers have the education and experience to guide individuals, families and communities through complex issues and choices, as well as the ability to connect individuals, families and communities to available resources; and
Whereas, Social workers are positive and compassionate professionals who are dedicated to improving the society in which we live; and
Whereas, Social workers stand up for others to make sure everyone has access to the same basic rights, protections and opportunities; and
Whereas, Social workers help people help themselves, whenever and wherever they need it most; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby designates the month of March, 2005, as "Professional Social Work Month"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate hereby recognizes the professionalism of social workers and their commitment to individuals, families and communities; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the appropriate officials of the West Virginia Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.
